Company fires woman for consistently arriving early to work

Many employees lose their jobs due to regularly arriving late at work, but an unusual case from Spain has drawn global attention—where a woman was fired for arriving early.

According to reports, the incident took place in Alicante, Spain, where a woman working for a delivery company was dismissed for repeatedly arriving at her workplace before her official working hours.

Sources said the woman used to reach the office daily between 6:45am and 7:00am, despite her employment contract clearly stating that her shift was scheduled to begin at 7:30am. She would also begin her duties before the arrival of her colleagues.

This behavior reportedly annoyed the company management. In 2023, the woman was formally reprimanded for arriving early. Later, she received official warnings instructing her to strictly follow her assigned working hours.

However, the employee ignored the warnings and continued to report early. Eventually, in 2025, the company terminated her employment, labeling her actions as “serious misconduct.”

Following her dismissal, the woman challenged the decision in court. During the hearing, the company argued that her early arrival was unnecessary as there was no work available at that time. The company further claimed she was unwilling to cooperate despite repeated instructions and warnings.

The court ruled in favor of the company, stating that the employee’s repeated disregard for company policy negatively affected her working relationship with the employer, making the termination justified.
