Pakistan Beat India to Win ACC Under-19 Asia Cup Title

Pakistan delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat arch-rivals India in the final of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Asia Cup, clinching the prestigious title in emphatic fashion.

Chasing a massive target of 348 runs, the Indian Under-19 team collapsed under pressure and was bowled out for just 156 runs, handing Pakistan a comprehensive victory.

🔥 Sameer Minhas Shines with Match-Winning Knock

Earlier, Pakistan posted an imposing total of 347 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 50 overs, thanks to a sensational innings by Sameer Minhas.

The right-handed batter played a breathtaking knock of 172 runs, smashing 17 fours and 9 sixes. He reached his century in just 71 balls and finished as the top scorer of the tournament, putting India’s bowling attack under immense pressure.

Other Pakistani batters also made valuable contributions. Ahmed Hussain scored 56 runs, Usman Khan added 35, while captain Farhan Yousuf chipped in with 19 runs. Hamza Zahoor scored 18, Muhammad Sayyam made 13, and Niqab Shafiq remained unbeaten on 12.

For India, Dipesh Devendran was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Khelan Patel and Hanil Patel claimed two wickets each.

🎯 India’s Chase Falls Apart

India had earlier won the toss and elected to field first, hoping to restrict Pakistan to a manageable total. However, Pakistan’s aggressive batting approach left the Indian side facing an uphill task.

During the chase, Pakistan’s bowlers maintained tight lines and applied relentless pressure, resulting in India’s dramatic collapse.

🗣️ Captain’s Confidence Pays Off

Before the final, Pakistan Under-19 captain Farhan Yousuf had expressed confidence in his team, stating they were fully prepared and determined to fight for the title. His words proved prophetic as Pakistan outplayed India in all departments.

📜 Historic Achievement for Pakistan

Pakistan has previously won the ICC Under-19 World Cup twice, but this victory marks a major milestone in ACC Under-19 Asia Cup history. The Green Shirts were earlier joint champions with India in 2012, but this time they lifted the trophy outright with a commanding win.

The triumph not only highlights Pakistan’s strong youth cricket system but also signals a promising future for the country’s next generation of cricketers.
