When Argentina snatched victory from England last night, David Beckham had a hard time fighting back tears while watching the game from the stands.

The football star couldn’t hide his emotions when the final whistle blew in Atlanta, which ended up crushing England’s dream of the World Cup.

The former England caption, according to the BBC, consolded in wife Victoria Beckham arms while appearing to wipe away tears.

However, before Argentina’s back-to-back goals, the Beckhams did not cut a dejected figure.

In contrast, as the TV camera often focused on them during the match, the pair was leaping and celebrating every good move by the Three Lions.

Along with them, three kids were also present, except for eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, with whom the family reportedly shared a strained relationship.

Moreover, Argentina’s loss became more painful for Beckham, who was seen cradling his head in disbelief.

As back in the 1998 World Cup, the football icon kicked La Albiceleste midfielder, Diego Simeone.

Beckham was swiftly sent off after receiving a red card.

The ex-England captain came under much criticism over his move, which took him four years to redeem himself by winning against Argentina in the 2002 World Cup.

Nonetheless, Beckham described the crushing loss in an Instagram post.

“Heartbreak for us all but memories that inspire and last forever. Thank you to our team, our fans & our country for what you have given us in this World Cup,” he wrote.
