LeBron James, a face so recognizable in the NBA and the broader sports world, is turning his attention to YouTube.
But the niche he chose is golf.
By using his name for the channel, James puts it out there to show his growing fascination with the sport.
However, to make this clear, the star basketballer will not only post content about golf.
Instead, it will be a mix of travel, food and other fun activities, as The Hollywood Reporter reported, “LeBron and his friends will play a round at some of the world’s greatest golf courses, dine at local restaurants and have a little fun while enjoying everything the game of golf has to offer.”
To pack a powerful surprise, James tagged along some legendary figures in his debut episode to a trip to Castle Stuart Golf Links at Cabot Highlands in Scotland.
Welcome, Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Richard Jefferson, Tristan Thompson, and Channing Frye.
All of them have been part of James’ journey in the Cleveland Cavaliers – a team in which the iconic basketballer played for over a decade.
Excited for his first episode, James told THR, “I’m looking forward to people seeing this first episode, which was the trip of a lifetime with my teammates.”
“We got to play golf and catch up in some of the most beautiful settings I’ve ever been in.”
“It’s been a lot of fun out on the course, learning and loving all the nuances of the game, and I’m excited about bringing everyone along with me on this journey through my channel,” he said.
Meanwhile, James’ channel, named after him, will drop episodes each month on Saturdays.
