Pakistan delivered a strong batting performance against arch-rivals India in the final of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Asia Cup, displaying intent and confidence on the big stage.
Star batter Sameer Minhas stole the spotlight with a sensational century, scoring 103 runs off just 71 balls. His explosive innings included 12 fours and 4 massive sixes, making it one of the most entertaining knocks of the tournament. With this performance, Sameer Minhas emerged as the highest run-scorer of the Under-19 Asia Cup.
India won the toss ahead of the final clash and opted to field first, putting Pakistan’s batting lineup under early pressure. However, Pakistan responded positively, building momentum through aggressive stroke play and solid partnerships.
Before the high-voltage final, Pakistan Under-19 captain Farhan Yousuf expressed confidence in his squad, stating that the team was fully prepared, determined to fight hard, and eager to lift the title.
Pakistan has a strong history in youth cricket, having won the ICC Under-19 World Cup twice, but the Under-19 Asia Cup title has remained elusive so far. The Green Shirts last shared the trophy with India in 2012, when the tournament ended with joint champions.
The ongoing final against India presents Pakistan with another golden opportunity to create history and claim their first outright ACC Under-19 Asia Cup title.
