Former Premier League English referee Anthony Taylor has been appointed director of elite refereeing at the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) today after his retirement from a prominent 20-year career.
The 47-year-old appointment was confirmed by law firm Trinity Chambers with barrister Fraser Williamson, representing him during the recruitment process.
Taylor will cover both high-level vision and technical development of elite referencing within the TFF, promoting its campaign to fortify the country’s refereeing program in line with UEFA and FIFA standards.
Taylor releases a statement following its appointment: “I am delighted to take on this new role.”
“I wish him every success in what I am sure will be a rewarding and successful chapter, he continued.”
According to Williamson, Taylor’s remarkable achievements in football “speak for themselves” and outlined the position as an avenue for involvement of elite refereeing in Turkiye.
